In our illustration today, everyone was given a "rule" for the day. The rule to follow was to NOT eat marshmallows.
As we began the lesson on Adam and Eve in the garden, Philip interrupted us because he said he thought there was nothing wrong with marshmallows, and in fact had a brought a whole bag of them to share. He said they were good to eat, and you could play games with them like "Chubby Bunny". He attempted to get others to join him in eating marshmallows.
It turned out, however, that the reason for the rule was that there was something BETTER than marshmallows - those who did not eat marshmallows got a rice crispie treat to eat!
The real lesson for the day was about temptation, and how God has promised us a way of escape for every temptation that we might face.
